The grid connect system is made up of 113 x 450W Watt solar panels producing solar power to a peak of 50.85 kilowatts DC. This solar power is fed into one solar inverter installed on the roof of the building. The AC electricity generated by this inverter is then fed into an AC cable that runs, through the roof to the Solar Sub Board below and from there into distribution board #2 in the Marina Office. The system design envisages that all solar power that is generated will be consumed within the building. Any excess power that is not consumed on site will be exported onto Vector’s grid for a credit on the site’s power bill.
